Impact and Total deepen Namibia partnership

Impact Oil and Gas and Total have deepened their partnership off Namibia ahead of drilling later this year.Total previously farmed into Impact's Block 2913B in the Orange Basin where it will drill the highly-anticipated Venus wildcat later this year.Impact has now farmed into Total's neighbouring Block 2912.The latter is outboard of Block 2913B and it is believed that the 600sq km Venus basin floor fan prospect may straddle into Block 2912.It covers around 7,933sq km and both blocks are immediately north of the South African maritime border.The two companies also hold the nearby Orange Basin Deep technical co-operation per-mit slightly further to the south.Total also holds the neighbouring Deep Offshore West Orange Basin block.Impact is partly owned by Africa Oil Corp which is a partner in Total's recent Brulpadda find off South Africa.In fact Impact helped fund the drilling although it has no direct interest in the acreage.
