Occidental Anadarko may delay Mozambique but Ghana/Algeria safer

Occidental may look to revise the timeline for Anadarko's Golfinho Mozambique LNG project if its bid for the company is successful while assets in Ghana and Algeria may actually be safer than if the rival bid from Chevron wins the day. Occidental put in a US $38 Bn offer to trump Chevron's $33 Bn offer at a price of $76 per share, around 20% higher than Chevron's $65 per share. Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway gave its approval by agreeing to invest $10 Bn in Occidental itself but there are expectations that Chevron could come back with a higher bid.
