摘要

Although Metacognition and Genre Analysis are well-established in their respective bodies of literature, it is only recently that researchers have begun to merge both to examine how an integrated approach could benefit learners especially in English as Second Language context. Thisconceptual paper demonstrates that an integrated approach could be further supplemented with metacognitive questioning, applicable in the ESL teaching and learning contexts. The questioning approach is proposed as Metacognitive Genre Questioning Framework.
