摘要

With a population that is made up various ethnic groups, Malaysia is becoming a melting pot for multiculturalism which calls for not only empathy but also knowledge which would help develop and improve understanding among the various cultural groups. Learning institutions provide thehuman capital and venue in witnessing multicultural spectacle as aspired in the Gagasan 1Malayisa. A survey was conducted to examine the knowledge, awareness and action-orientation through Multicultural Assessment Proficiency (MAP) for cultural responsive pedagogy in higher educationpractices. The participants include 443 students for this research purpose. Results obtained demonstrated that the university students who participated in the survey are significantly proficient in the areas of constructs for cultural responsiveness.
