A Review of Impacts and Challenges of Flipped-Mastery Classroom

摘要

Flipped Classroom is a blended learning method that is known for its combination of both online and face-toface learning. While mastery learning is a teaching approach that requires students to master a learning unit for at least 80 per cent of the study before proceeding to the nextunit. In other words, the mixture of flipped-mastery learning allows students to progress in their learning according to their own pace. The objective of this article is to review several study on the effects of integrating flipped-mastery approach via Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) platformin terms of enhancing student’s performance, attitude and satisfaction. Challenges and issues that arise are expected to shed light on designing learning activities that are appropriate for inclusion in the flipped-mastery based classroom such as content, activities and tools that canbe used to achieve successful online learning objectives.
