Chinese volumes rose by 2.7% y-o-y.? Ex-China, Western Europe and Japan were the standout major producing regions,with negative / slower growth in the rest of North East Asia and the Americas.In the second quarter of 2018, the wirerod sector accelerated with production increasing by2.2% y-o-y from a downwardly revised 0.8% y-o-y in the first three months of 2018. Growththrough the first half of the year was broadly balanced between China and the rest of theworld, although there was considerable inter-country variation especially between the threeNorth East Asian countries, which together account for just less than 10% of global demand.
