Synthesis of 3a,7a-Dihydroindoles via Rhodium-catalyzed Intermolecular Formal [3+2] Transannulation Reactions of Triazoles with Alkyl-substituted Benzene Derivatives

A synthetic method for a variety of 3a,7a-dihydroindoles was demonstrated from Rh-catalyzed intermolecular formal [3 + 2] transannulation reaction of 4-aryl-1-sulfonyl-1H-1,2,3-triazoles with alkyl-substituted benzene derivatives under microwave irradiation.
