China PTA import prices rise, tracking domestic price gains

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Imported purified terephthalic acid (PTA) prices into China are higher, tracking gains in the domestic markets.As seen in the above graph, positive arbitrage economics has prompted buyers in China to seek imports. On 8 April, deals for PTA imports into China were heard done at $850-860/tonne CFR (cost & freight) China Main Ports (CMP), compared with prices at $830-850/tonne CFR CMP on 4 April, according to ICIS data.
