摘要

In Japan, a new postgraduate educational rotation system was started in 2004 (1). All junior residents, corresponding to PGY1 and PGY2, are required to complete 2-year postgraduate training in primary care by rotating various clinical departments including a 1-month psychiatric training rotation. After that, they advance to their special clinical departments as senior residents. The junior residents are trained on the basis of the teaching guideline published by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan. The main object of the psychiatric training written in this guideline is to treat mentally handicapped persons and those with mental disorders with understanding and without stigma.
