Robots have a well-established place in manufacturing. They are flexible, precise, cost-effective and will endlessly repeat complex task sequences with unwavering accuracy. But there are still many jobs that are too complex for a single robot. Just as an artisan may sometimes wish he had a third hand, so robot programmers desire extra robots for more flexible positioning or to work in tandem. Putting additional robots into a cell does not solve all problems. If these are to move simultaneously, care must be taken to make sure movements are coordinated and paths do not collide. If one robot is difficult enough to program, then programming and coordinating several must be even more daunting. But not when using ABB's RobotStudio and the MultiMove PowerPac!
