IS THERE A CORRELATION BETWEEN RICE (ORYZA SATIVA) GERMINATION AND LUNAR RHYTHMS?

Several studies have addressed the possible influence of moon rhythms (sinodic, sidereal, and apogee-perigee) upon living beings. In the plant kingdom, Kolisko (1936), Abrami (1972), Angles (2002), Rubesam (2006), and Moodie (2007) reported correlations between growth and sinodic moon phases (lunar orbit related to the sun: the moon waxes and wanes in 29.5 days). Ziircher et al. (1998) correlated tree diameter growth with tide fluctuations (affected by the moon gravity pool). A moon rhythm of 27.6 days fluctuates from its perigee (nearest distance from the Earth) to its apogee (farthest distance from the Earth). Spiess (2000) reported moon perigee effects on the yield of bush-type beans and on radish growth. Edwards (1993) found a correlation between tree bud shape and moon rhythms.
