Canadian output continues to fall as firms continue to cut spending

Output from the country,particularly the oilsands in Alberta,continues to decline as producers reduce spending amid the ongoing price rout.Athabasca Oil Corp.has completely shut its Hangingstone oilsands wells and is reducing output from its 20.0K-b/d Leismer oilsands site to about 8.OK b/d.Tim McKay,President of Canadian Natural Resources Ltd.(CNRL),said that his company has shut in almost 120.0K b/d of its Canadian oilsands and conventional output this month.Cenovus Energy Inc.cut its Christina Lake oilsands output by 60.0K b/d.ConocoPhillips has lowered output from its 150.0K-b/d Surmont oilsands wells by about 100.0K b/d.Imperial Oil Ltd.said it would reduce output from its Kearl mine in Alberta by 70.0K b/d in 2Q to about 150.0K b/d,as it plans to undertake maintenance at Kearl in May and June.
