According to GlobalData latest's leport"Integrated Refineries,"global demand for PCs will likely rise as the world recovers from the coronavirUS pandemic.In addition,aside from PC production,refineries using an integrated model will create synergies that will improve the performance of refining units.For example,pyrolysis oil and gas,hydrogen,and C9 aromatics can be reverse fed from a PC unit.Oil and Gas Analyst Ravindra Puranik of GlobalData added,"Refiners are now focusing on developing innovative processes to maximize PC yield.The crude to chemicals conversion is one such process that is likely to bring a directional shift in the downstream sector.This process is being developed with the aim of generating 70-80% yield from a barrel of crude.A few notable refiners such as Saudi Aramco,ExxonMobil,Shell,and Total are leading the charge in perfecting crude oil to chemicals conversion."As of July,Chinese state-owned oil companies PetroChina and Sinopec control 19% of global integrated refining capacity.
