摘要

On July 21, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare released its report into a national 5-year pilot project, Young People in Residential Aged Care (YPIRAC). The scheme was introduced in 2006, after concerns over the increasing number of younger disabled adults (those below 65 years) being inappropriately housed in aged care facilities. Restricted funding meant that YPIRAC focused in particular on people younger than 50 years, who represent around 20% of those affected.
