Our modern society is based essentially on a large number of diversified types of materials with varying properties including ceramics, nanotubes,polymers, core-shell systems, advanced or biomaterials and the numerous applications of these materials in electronic devices, chips, sensors, fuel cells, energetic sources, drugs,...i.e., almost everything we use daily. This is certainly an interesting but wide area of expertise. Thus,we have invited scientists with different expertise, to filter out through their work, an overview of the field.
