IndiaPlast 2019 opens amidst great excitement and hopes

THE industry witnessed inauguration of IndiaPlast 2019 amidst a lot of excitement. Global icons of the industry adorned the head table during the inauguration. A 100% sold-out show, sprawling display of live machines - many for the first time ever, 945exhibitors from over 18 countries, dedicated country pavilions, recycling pavilion, innovation pavilion and more, significant value add for every discerning visitor. The plastics industry witnesses such a mega exhibition in Delhi-NCR after a gap of seven years. With growing importance of technology in business success, IndiaPlast 2019 has empowered the plastic processing industry with all that it needs to stay relevant and ahead of its competition. Wishing the show every success, chief guest, Mr Amitabh Kant IAS, CEO, NITI Aayog, congratulated the organizing team for putting an outstanding show bringing all the stake holders from the industry together, which includes 750 exhibitors from India. Kant said, "We have more than 40,000 processing units in MSME producing vast range of products with processing capacity over 35 million tonnes a year which is unique. Also the processing capacity has been growing at 13% CAGR which is unparalleled. The processing industry expects to invest over 5-10 billion dollar in coming next five years, this is huge and expanding market. India has just begun the process of urbanization - next five decades will see 700 million people move towards urbanization and the demand of plastics will grow from 12 kg per capita to 50 per capita. The annual imports in plastic is 3.5 billion while exports is 7.5 billion - which shows the competency of the processing sector."
