Murphy Oil to implement deepwater Gulf of Mexico tie-ins, developments

Houston-Murphy Oil, which revived its deepwater Gulf of Mexico operation last year, is ready to execute several tie-in operated projects that will boost its 2019 production in that arena to a level it can maintain for several years, its chief executive said. Near-term projects include two recently completed wells, one at Murphy’s Medusa field and the other at the Dalmatian field, which will come online, respectively, in the third and fourth quarters, CEO Roger Jenkins said Tuesday in webcast remarks at the JP Morgan 2019 Energy Conference in New York. Longer term, three wells at the Front Runner field are expected online in Q1 2020. The Nearly Headless Nick field will come online with one well beginning in Q4 2019.
