Houston-Murphy Oil said Tuesday it will acquire a set of producing assets from a joint venture of LLOG Exploration and LLOG Bluewater Holdings,hiking its oil production and reserves in the rebounding deepwater Gulf of Mexico.The Murphy-LLOG deal reflects the renewed interest by Gulf players at a time when offshore costs have been reduced by oil services providers or been brought down by innovations and technology,and the frenzied activity of shale has been held in check by transportation,oil price volatility and geological issues,analysts said.
