Kazakhstan approves Kashagan processing plant to boost output

London-Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin gave the go-ahead Thursday for construction of a 1 Bcm/year gas processing plant intended to lift oil output from the giant Kashagan field by some 250,000 b/d, with completion due in 2021, his office said. Details were announced after a meeting of top government ministers in the western oil city of Atyrau, by the Caspian Sea.
