Singapore—The Platts Shanxi daily spot alu- mina assessment gained Yuan 20/mt ($2.85) on Monday to Yuan 2,600/mt ex-works cash. The current price also reflected an increase of Yuan 60/mt on the week, and was up Yuan 130/mt from last month. Offers were heard at Yuan 2,600-2,650/ mt ex-works Shanxi on Monday, up from around Yuan 2,600/mt last week. Potential buyers’ guidance continued wide ranging at Yuan 2,500-2,600/mt, as near-term market direction remained unclear amid the COVID- 19 virus situation, sources said.
