Singapore—The Platts Shanxi daily spot alumina assessment gained Yuan 30/mt ($4.30) day on day Thursday at Yuan 2,450/ mt ex-works cash, and also rose Yuan 30/mt on the week, but was down Yuan 50/mt from a month ago. Market sentiment firmed as offer levels increased on the back of restocking demand ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays at end January 2020, sources said.
