China to ban imports of vessels for shipbreaking, auto bale scrap

In a further crackdown onenvironmental pollution, China will ban importsof scrap such as vessels for shipbreaking andautomobile scrap bales from December 2018,international recycling association BIR saidTuesday citing an April 19 announcement byChina’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment(MEE). This follows China’s banning of varioustypes of waste imports earlier this year.
