Taiwan containerized scrap prices continue to rise on lack of supply

Singapore—Containerized scrap prices to Taiwan continued to rise as some buyers showed increasing interest following previous weeks of inactive trading, sources said. The S&P Global Platts daily TSI HMS I/II 80:20 containerized scrap spot price was assessed at $285/mt CFR Taiwan on Sept. 11, up $10/mt on the week. US West Coast HMS I/II 80:20 cargoes offered to Taiwan were heard higher at $285-$290/mt CFR. Trading was thin with a small cargo sold $10/mt higher week on week at $285/mt CFR on Sept. 10.
