Brent, WTI Eke Out Gains After Volatile Week

Oil continued its recovery from a roughly $5 crash earlier in the week, ending Friday in positive territory. But both benchmarks were down for the week as some of the outages supporting prices have dissipated alongside higher trade tensions between the US and China. In London, Brent crude for September delivery settled 88￠ higher at $75.33 per barrel, down $1.78 for the week. In New York, August Nymex West Texas Intermediate (WTI) ended the session up 68￠ at $71.01/bbl, posting a weekly loss of $2.79. The September contract closed 60￠ higher at $69.95/bbl.
