Industry Committee Urges Arctic Regulation, Lease Changes

An industry advisory panel to US Energy Secretary Rick Perry is recommending regulatory changes to open up the US Arctic to more development. In an assessment publicized Friday, the National Petroleum Council urged the Trump administration to change how it regulates offshore drilling in Arctic waters, put more acreage up for lease and extend the leases so that companies have more time to bring oil to development.
