Nutrien to sell SQM stake to China's Tianqi Lithium

Nutrien agreed to sell the majority of its shares in fellow potash producer Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile SA (SQM) to China’s Tianqi Lithium for around $4.07 billion, the company said May 17. The transaction is for the entirety of Nutrien’s ‘A’ shares in SQM but does not include ‘B’ shares, which Nutrien said it expects to divest in due course. The 'A' shares were valued at $65 per share.
