SQM enters conciliation process with Corfo

Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile (SQM) entered into a conciliation period with Corporacion de Fomento de la Produccion (Corfo) in an attempt to end an ongoing arbitration process over mining loyalties at the Salar de Atacama site, the company said December 18. SQM has previously faced allegations of underpaying royalties and taxes due for mining at the Chilean site, which holds significant reserves of potash, lithium and iodine.
