OMAN: KBR has added to its recent string of LNG wins with the award of the front end engineering design (FEED) contract for the debottlenecking of the Oman LNG plant in the Sultanate of Oman. KBR will perform full FEED services including “licenser and vendor management and associated services,” the company said on Wednesday. “KBR will act as an extension to Oman LNG's project team and help manage the overall execution of the project including the management of the supply and ensure all areas of compliance and safety are adhered to,” it added. The job will see Oman LNG, which produced 10.4 mt in 2018, increase capacity by 1.5 mtpa. KBR was recently selected as the preferred bidder to design and build Freeport LNG Train 4, and won the engineering, procurement and construction management contract at BP’s Greater Tortue floating LNG project in Senegal and Mauritania.
