Uzbekistan Woos China to Key Energy Projects

Uzbekistan is eyeing Chinese technology and investment to help fulfill a strategic development plan for the oil and gas industry to 2030, state-owned Uzbekneftegas said in a statement on Tuesday after meeting with officials from China’s Citic Construction.Uzbekistan is currently drawing up the strategic plan to 2030, which will include projects such as modernizing two existing refineries, installing methanol-to-olefins (MTO) capacity, and laying down yet another gas pipeline linking Turkmenistan and China and crossing Uzbekistan, the company said.
