Zarubezhneft to Enter Uzbekistan

Russian state-controlled oil company Zarubezhneft has agreed to develop three mature fields in Uzbekistan, where the company can apply its experience with enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Zarubezhneft said in a statement that it and state-owned Uzbekneftegas have established a joint venture, which will receive the license to develop the already-producing Yuzhny Alamyshik, Khartum and Vostochny Khartum fields in Uzbekistan. The JV will be responsible for boosting crude oil production from the fields using EOR methods and other technologies.
