To Cars.com, digital video advertising is the next wave of innovation coming for auto dealers. The Chicago company helped dealers transition away from newspaper classified advertising when it launched two decades ago as an online vehicle listings site, CEO Alex Vetter told Automotive News last week. Now, as the company tries to reinvent itself as a dealership technology provider, Vetter said he sees an opportunity to help dealers migrate again - this time, shifting advertising away from TV and onto the Internet.
