Crude prices dropped sharply from the previous week’s two-year highs. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated fell by $3.26/bl to $61.22/bl, while US marker WTI shed $2.03/bl to $55.14/bl. Rising US production and WTI’s wide discount to North Sea Dated supported light sweet exports from the US Gulf coast. WTI Houston climbed by 64¢/bl to a $5.74/bl premium to WTI on export interest and slower import demand.
