Japanese Mills to Participate in Tender on HR Coils for TAP Gas Pipeline

A tender or negotiations on hot-rolled (HR) steel coils for spiral steel pipes for the TAP gas pipeline are expected to start as early as May. That pipeline with a total length of 520km is the gas pipeline from the starting point of Komotini where in turn is the final point of the TANAP gas pipeline to SanFoca in Italy across the Adriatic Sea through Greece and Albania. Approximately 90 thousand tons of UO pipes are expected to be laid on the seabed portion of the Adriatic Sea. Besides them, on the pipeline laid on onshore portions of Greece, Albania and so on, spiral pipes are mostly laid. The quantity of spiral pipes used is uncertain but will be a scale of several hundred thousand tons. There is some point of view that a total quantity of UO and spiral pipes will reach 500 thousand tons.
