More data to guide diabetes care for children and teens

ADDING rosiglitazone to metformin therapy for children and teenagers is associated with better glycaemic control than metformin alone, which leaves blood sugar levels uncontrolled in half of patients. Despite the rise in numbers of young people developing type 2 diabetes, there are few data to guide treatment, say the authors of a study-published online in the New England Journal of Medicine (28 April 2012).
