I am astonished at the General Pharmaceutical Council's decision to approve self-selection of pharmacy medicines [see p315]. It appears to be missing the point completely. The reason we have P medicines is so that a pharmacist can intervene in the sale and protect the public. I have spent many years training pharmacy students for this
