The Pharmaceutical Journal of 25 September 2010 (p325) reports that the General Pharmaceutical Council will be requiring ail community pharmacies to have a consultation room. This is not the GPhC's current policy on premises. The position is set out in interim premises standards that have been published by the GPhC and which came into effect on 27 September - the date of transition of regulation from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Premises need to be fit for purpose, bearing in mind the services being provided.
