The Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee has announced that prescription numbers in England increased by 6.3 per cent last year; after an increase of 5.4 per cent in the previous year and similar increases of the same order every year for the past 10 years or more. The average number of prescriptions dispensed by the average pharmacy has doubled in less than 15 years.
