Editorial Comment: The holy grail of oncology treatment is to identify tumor specific genetic mutations and treat with a tailored regimen to act on the altered genetic pathway. This study shows the significant heterogeneity involved in urothelial cancer that is shared by the majority of solid tumors. This finding will make targeted therapy much more challenging.
