Iodine-sodium acetate (I2-NaOAc) mediated oxidative dimerization of indolizines: an efficient method for the synthesis of biindolizines

摘要

An I2-NaOAc mediated one-pot process for the oxidative dimerization of indolizines under mild conditions is described. The reaction afforded a variety of products in good to excellent yields from indolizines with acceptor groups. Macrocyclic systems with the biindolizine fragment(s) were also synthesized from monoindolizinylquinoxaline podands under the same conditions.
