LME cash nickel prices have rallied into 2012 on the back of positive news surrounding the euro zone and prospects for further loosening of monetary policy in China. The rally in prices comes after LME nickel prices fell to multi-year lows to below 17,000 dollars/t on November 30th as fears over global economic growth heightened. LME nickel prices dropped by almost 21% during H2, making it the worst performing LME metals after tin in 2011.
