Nigerian military says averts new attack on Eni pipeline

Lagos-Nigeria’s special military unit in the oil-producing Niger Delta region, Friday said it foiled another attack on an oil pipeline operated by Eni Nigerian subsidiary Agip. Joint Task Force troops also arrested 19 suspects during two weeks of military raids on militant hideouts in delta, JTF spokesman Isa Ado said in a statement. “The suspects had dug and planted dynamite beneath the pipeline location in a swamp for detonation before the troops foiled the sabotage operation,” Ado said.
