Fears of a full - scale oil production shutdown in Nigeria are growing after the Niger Delta Avengers militant group claimed to have blown up an oil pipeline operated by Eni in the southeastern state of Bayelsa. The attack, which struck Eni's Obi Obi Brass trunk line in the early hours of Friday, according to an announcement on the group's Twitter account, has not been confirmed by the Italian company. But a Nigerian security official was quoted as saying the line had indeed been targeted.
