Oil markets to ease despite Libyan woes

London—Global oil market fundamentals will likely weaken in coming months as further expected jumps in production from North America and other non-OPEC countries more than offset the loss of Libyan crude production, the International Energy Agency said Thursday. World oil supplies fell by 770,000 b/d in August to 91.59 million b/d, after labor disputes and civil unrest in Libya slashed oil production from the North African OPEC member, according to the IEA’s latest monthly report.
