London—Italian oil major Eni has confirmed plans to grow its production this year by up to 3%, despite a disappointing first quarter and potential further delays hanging over its massive Kashagan oil field start-up in the Caspian Sea. Eni, the first of the European integrated oil majors to report first quarter earnings, said its oil and gas production for the quarter slipped to 1.6 million boe/d—5% lower than in the year ago period.
