Washington—Chesapeake Energy and privateequity giant Kohlberg Kravis Roberts intend toform a $250 million partnership to invest inmineral rights and royalty interests across theUS, the two firms said March 6.Chesapeake will invest $25 million for a10% stake in the partnership and will act asthe general partner in the relationship, locat-ing, buying and managing the revenue streamfrom royalties on gas and oil wells predomi-nantly located in shale plays.
