Gazprom to buy half Eni stake in Libya's Elephant

New York-Gazprom Neft, the oil arm of Russian gas giant Gazprom, will buy half of Eni's stake in the consortium developing the Elephant oil field in Libya for about $170 million, the Italian company said February 16. Eni has a 33% stake in the 130,000 b/d field, located in the Murzuk Basin in Libya's southwestern desert, about 800 km (497 miles) from Tripoli.
