Canada’s Stratic sees North Sea field reserves reduced

London—Canada’s Stratic Energy said November 19 the reserves of the Petrofac-operated West Don oil field in the North Sea have been shown to be some 9% lower than previously thought. The company, which has a 17.25% stake in the field, believes the future value of the field has not been “materially changed” however, because of low production levels this year, which means the remaining oil to be extracted is actually higher than thought.
