Jerusalem-The new Israeli government will have to reevaluate the country’s national policy regarding natural gas following a major discovery off Israel’s northern Mediterranean coast, the president of Isramco said February 11. Yossi Levy’s comments followed news released late February 10 by Noble Energy, a fellow partner in the Tamar consortium, that drilling at Tamar-1 showed reserves of an estimated 142 billion cubic meters, up from predrill estimates of 88 Bcm.
