ExxonMobil faces Alaska gas project obstacle

Anchorage-Alaska's Oil and Gas Conservation Commission may require ExxonMobil to develop a plan to recover gas liquids at the Point Thomson gas and condensate field prior to production of lean gas if the field is developed, the agency's chairman told Platts November 22. The AOGCC's position is one more complication in a sticky controversy that has developed in Alaska over the field. In addition to operator ExxonMobil, the other partners in the field are BP, Chevron and ConocoPhillips.
