Paris-ChevronTexaco Jan 25 denied local reports that its proposed us1.9-bil gas-to-liq-uids project in Nigeria had been canceled after the government queried the high cost of building the plant.The ThisDay newspaper quoted the presidential adviser on petroleum,Edmund Dauko-ru,as saying the cost of the project was "very high" and that a similar project had been built in Qatar at cost of us900-mil.
